Mike Thompson is a former New Scotland Yard Detective Sergeant who, since retirement from the police, has operated in the security sector as a Senior Investigator at the Serious Fraud Office and as a Security Management consultant.

His interest in mental health first began during the London Bombings in 2005 where he served as a Disaster Victim Identification manager where he had his own mental health tested to the limit.

Over the last four years Mike has retrained and is now a practising therapeutic counsellor currently completing a diploma in counselling and psychotherapy; he also holds a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: Mike is a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

He is offering IFPO members discounted, private, bespoke counselling both directly and via his network of fellow counselling professionals.
